Nope! It's funny you should guess that though, since I'm actually in the BtVS fandom, and I've found it's one of the few fandoms that's more likely to accuse the male characters of being useless.

Well Faith was effective, but Buffy was whiny and ineffectual without back up and likely to come undone when Angel simpered her way, Willow was either background or Evil (with a capital E) and Dawn was just Scrappy Doo only human. On the other hand, Giles, Xander and eventually Spike were competent characters who got things done.
