We moved to the wrong place from LJ. If we'd gone to tumblr the place would be hopping. Or even back to LJ, which is picking back up again in terms of activity.

Dreamwidth was the most comparable option, considering it was originally on Livejournal. It never would have moved to Tumblr, because the discussion is the key part of this whole thing. Also, this place is still hopping; compared to other communities of this nature (anon memes and such) there is far more activity happening here.

There are plenty of secret blogs on Tumblr (usually called "___headcanons" or something) where people just reblog to comment. Still looks pretty dumb and spread out though.

You can't, nor could you feasibly hold discussions with multiple people. (Hell, it's hard enough trying to just have a conversation with two people.)

Personally, I prefer the LJ/DW format, even if there are a handful of dumb secrets every now and then. Case's ability to freeze threads alone is enough to make me vastly prefer it over a free-form reblogging format like tumblr.

Yeah, it is spread-out - that's the problem. And it clutters blogs and dashes. There's no centralized forum, no place for community discussion - that's why it won't work. We could have fandomsecrets on Tumblr, and it would be fun to do that anyway, but only as an accessory - in order for this comm to be what it is, it NEEDS a central discussion hub. The discussion is 90% of the point, for me.
