I'm sorry but when did she do that in the last three live action adaptations of the character?

Lois in Smallville has shoved her foot into someone's face plenty of times. A few of those times were in defense of a weakened Clark.

Lois in Superman Returns, while incredibly flawed, never once hid behind Superman. In fact, I remember her jumping into the ocean to save Superman from sinking to the bottom.

And the Man of Steel's Lois was, for the first time since I can remember, fully realized as a journalist, pursuing a story so doggedly she actually had it leaked online when her editor nixed it. Her involvement in the plot was very proactive and very organic, growing from her story about the "ghost".

She's the not the titular superhero, so it's not her job to save the world and be your feminist role model.

different anon but for all the reasons you've listed she def qualifies as a feminist role model in my books :'
