I don't really hate Gollum, but I am *terrified* of him. My mom didn't introduce me to fandom until the Lord of the Rings movies came out because I was so scared of Gollum when I saw him in the animated The Hobbit. It took me until last year to learn that she's a really big geek. Wait, I guess I do hate Gollum since he scared me so much I missed out on fun geek stuff with my mom!

Call me weird, or maybe it's nostalgia goggles; but honestly, I think I like the Rankin Bass Gollum more than the Jackson one...

They all terrify me equally, so I don't have a preference :)

I nearly fled the theater during The Two Towers when he made his appearance. I did run out on the animated version, I think I cried too but I was four or five, so I'm not sure.

I was terrified of the Gollum on the cover of the copy of The Hobbit my parents attempted to read to me when I was four.
