(Anonymous) 2013-07-15 04:57 am (UTC)(link)I think he's especially in denial about the creatures because he has pretty understandable reasons for wanting to believe that anything and everything that's apparently frightening is actually just misunderstood.
It's just that he's ignoring the fact that most of his creatures are neither as intelligent or as social as he is. They can't make the decision to be "nice" in the way humans would understand it, so it's kind of unpleasant that he keeps forcing them on his students and his students on them.
