You're probably not the only one, unfortunately.

[Picture is two persons standing together at a pier, watching the sun set over mountains on the other side of a lake. There is a fishing rod next to them. They have their arms linked and appear to be wearing shorts and sleeveless shirts. Because of the light, they look like silhouettes.]

When one half of a "dynamic duo" from a film or TV show is less than forthcoming in public about the actors' real-life friendship, I always think, "Yep! That's the one that's closeted about it!" and I assume they're more than friends/co-workers.

I can't be the only one, right?

not sure if i understood the secret, but what if they're simply not friends in real life?

(Anonymous) 2013-07-16 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm quite sure you're not the only one, but I think you and all the others need new hobbies.

+1 tinhats have been ruining fandom since LOTR.

You and spn_gossip

(Anonymous) 2013-07-16 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I wish you were tho.

Oh my God, is it a crime to be less outgoing than someone else? I, for one, am rather tired of this shtick where someone who may or may not be as outgoing about something is clearly hiding something or being secretive. Fantasize about what you want, OP, but quite frankly, if I ever became a celebrity, I'd go the Andy Garcia route and stay off everyone's radar.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-16 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope. That's the entire basis of CrissColfer fandom.

You probably aren't the only one, but why is that your assumption? What if their friendship is portrayed as closer than it really is for publicity? What if one of them is more private? What if one of them doesn't want their friendship to be fodder for fans who make assumptions?

You can ship whatever and however and whyever you want. But if someone were to take my shyness and quietness as an excuse to make assumptions about the nature of my relationships with other people, I would think that person was an ass.

I'm sure you're not the only one, but...from my own perspective, this strikes me as very odd. My assumption in this sort of case tends to be either, "they're not actually friends" or "s/he's a private person," not "oh clearly they are fucking." o.O

You sound like my mother. She thinks 90% of men in Hollywood are gay/bi, because...well, I've yet to divine why.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-17 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
if one of them is "closeted about it" does that mean the other one is somehow being openly gay/bi when they talk about their friendship with another guy?!?

On what basis do people assume this? has it ever actually been true?? Like dude, if you enjoy your fantasies that's fine! But assuming that life follows the plots of fanfiction is kind of sad and weird.

are you a larry stylinson fan

(Anonymous) 2013-07-17 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Well as long as you don't shove your opinion down other's throats or actually mention it to the actors on twitter, etc then there's no problem.
