There's bad science all over the place OP. Ignoring the outdated science that he integrated (pretty well sometimes, not so well other times, completely made up other times because in the end it was science-FICTION) it was a pretty good book. That's why a movie was made from it.

You can still like the movie more though...and have nostalgic love for it while recognising it's a) outdated knowledge and b) a nice attempt on dinosaurs but still fiction
