The first game in that series is still one of my all-time favorites (the others not so much). The scenery was always brilliant in them, so I can perfectly understand wanting to see those places in reality. Nice that you enjoyed the trip, no matter what the reason.

I don't know what this is, but I don't see anything wrong with that :) Fandom inspires people to do a lot of amazing things, including travel. I actually studied abroad in Japan because of a band that I loved at the time. The experience changed my life and I loved it enough to go back and live there for a few more years. No regrets. Doesn't matter what makes you go, just that you GO.

Ooh, I've been to Ludwig's castle when I was younger. I loved learning about Ludwig and all the secrets in his castle. His death was so mysterious.

I haven't played the game tho :( I do love her work with Kings Quest.

This [Gabriel Knight game] is the main reason why a friend and I visited Munich (and Neuschwanstein) this summer. No regrets.

Bonus secret: I also bought a booklet about Ludwig II only to use it as reference for fic. Oh, and fic also may have something to do with the fact I took care to memorize his bedroom's position and that of the one for important guests. Regret still refuses to show its face.
