Well, you were the one who said "sexy", which generally means "attractive", so I pointed out that one doesn't need to be attractive to be sexual. And in RL, less so in the media, plenty of women who aren't conventionally attractive are objectified.

Anyway, yes, one can show skin and be sexy without being sexualized, and it's a fine line. I mostly just pointed out you didn't have to be because there's a misconception that a woman's sexuality pertains primarily to performative sexuality for men's enjoyment, making it about men and not herself. I guess one way to describe "sexualized" as in "there for the intended viewers' sexual pleasure".

I think some level of sexualization is not necessarily a bad thing, but even at a certain degree, women are sexualized disproportionately more than men, which is a problem.

So at what point do you have to cover up/stop showing skin to avoid being sexualized?

I guess one way to describe "sexualized" as in "there for the intended viewers' sexual pleasure".

So basically...fanservice. Are you arguing that fanservice with female characters is always bad? Do you think it precludes there being any other aspects to that character?

I think some level of sexualization is not necessarily a bad thing

Are you the same anon I was talking to before?

women are sexualized disproportionately more than men, which is a problem.

This is true, but not the point we were discussing.
