I feel like it's one thing after the other with this place.

for anyone (probably everyone lol) who doesn't know, I work at a dunkin donuts. a few weeks ago I posted about a guy who kept touching me and making me uncomfortable. well, he's been fired. but so has my friend, who apparently stole $60 right out of her drawer, along with a couple of occasions where $20 went missing from her drawer. so that's fucking great.

also, there's this new guy who always talks down to me and tries to order me around, but when I ask him politely to do something--or really say anything to him, he gets huffy and stomps around. a couple days ago I answered a question of his (again, politely) and stomped out back. I heard him saying to everyone that "that girl has a real attitude problem." I'm very conscious of my tone and I always put effort into being courteous toward him (because he does make me really angry acting this way), so I know that was false as fuck. to top it all of, he's actually been working there for less time than I have!! wtf!

the real problem of this past week though is that the manager (I'll call her N) and her brother (who I looked up to and honestly cared about a lot; I;ll call him J) are now out. N was "demoted" because this clique of fake-ass bitches stabbed her in the back (these are all grown women, by the way) told the man in charge of our store that she was always yelling, that she stayed in her office and never helped out, and more. these are complete lies but apparently they all said they would quit if N stayed. so J quit on the spot when it was official that N was out--understandably, because it's all such a farce. but losing J has been really tough for me because he was pretty much the only person I could count on. he was also sort of like a father figure to me (my dad died a few years ago). now that N and J are gone, I don't even want to go to work at all. especially when the women who essentially put them out of their jobs are around, happy and all smiles.

and one of the assistant managers (who was part of the efforts to remove N, even though the clique girls talk shit about her all the time--go figure) hasn't been letting me count my drawer before using it--she puts it in before telling me I'm going on register and just says "I already counted it so you're set" or whatever. well today, my drawer was short $21.86. WHAT THE FUCK. obviously this makes me look really bad and now I have to go talk to the new manager tomorrow to try to set the story straight, because I know I didn't steal any money. it all just sucks ass.

so yeah probably no one will read this the whole way because it's quite the story, but I always feel better just getting everything out in writing. sorry for the tldr.

I would let the manager know what the assistant manager is up to, since - for all you know - you weren't short, or that the A.M. miscounted. It might not change anything, but at least the manager would know that it's happening.

If I were you, I'd keep working there if I could but in the meantime, look for another place to work because that place sounds like a toxic work environment. And it's a doughnut place. Pastry should never be that parasitic.

I know, right?! the day I found out about it all I was saying to my friend that this isn't the type of thing that should be happening in a legitimate establishment--it's not a freaking mutiny on a pirate ship. the cherry on top is that neither of the assistant managers (both of them in the clique) even wanted the manager position. they're just bitches.

I leave for college in a month so luckily I'll be out of here fairly soon. while I'm away I doubt I will be applying at any doughnut shops!

I really don't have any advise to you, just think of the paycheque and get through one day at the time, you can buy shiny things with your paycheque!

This sounds like when I used to work at my local convention. I would offer advice but I simply quit and got out. I don't think you really have that option considering this is your job. I'm sorry you're going through this.

Dude, suck. Can you take your drawer back out and count it yourself? In front of another manager?

thanks for the bear lol. and no, I can't take it out--the drawer [of money] goes into an actual drawer that can only be opened during a transaction or by a manager. the manager isn't supposed to open the drawer unless it's an emergency though. what the assistant manager is doing is putting the drawer [of money] into the actual drawer and closing it all the way, then saying "okay help the customers now," so I don't get the chance to count the money inside for myself.
