Most parents I know who are in the 30-40 age range and liked cartoons and anime as kids absolutely love to be able to introduce their own kids to the things they watched or read when they were their age. It's a great thing to share with your children.
There are times to be the responsible parent and act all grown-up, but there are also times to have fun with your kids. The two aren't mutually exclusive if you find a good balance.
