If I was taking this way too seriously I would say that it really disrespects the versatility of the actors to supposedly be so unable to separate their different roles?
I love fusion AUs in general when they're well thought-out, but to me you just need to have more reasoning for it - other than the characters looking exactly alike - for me to believe the fic's gonna be any good. Even fusions that aren't about the actor conflation fall too often into being OOC because the author doesn't commit to rewriting the role a bit to suit the different character.
