I was wondering about the dates as well, because OP does seem to be including 8 but that still just brings us to the 90s.

Also excellent point about there being drama in the classic run.

The person probably included the Doctor Who classic novels in the mix, that why the dates. esp the virgin novels.

Personally, I loved the Virgin novels. They were the ones I collected when I had my huge passion for DW in my teens. I was lucky that between my local library and my favourite video store I got to watch quite a few of the old serials.
