I mean, how many of the people who went to see those would have gone and seen Pacific Rim instead if it wasn't there?

That doesn't even matter. I imagine they had the same target audience, though, both being aimed at youngish dudes.

If you're asking about the entire audience who saw Despicable Me 2/Grown Ups 2? A relatively small percentage.

Otoh, if you're asking about the people who saw Despicable Me 2/Grown Ups 2 and who care enough about sci-fi films to notice and be disappointed that the most recent Star Trek movie isn't half as original as it should be?

Yeah, that percentage is gonna be a lot bigger.
