Number one reason I never learn anything about any of the bands/authors/actors I like.

I find their music catchy and especially like Internet Killed The Video Star and The Future. Haven't listened to all the latest album, but seems promising. I'm just worried that if I continue reading about them, I'll find something that bothers me enough to ruin my enjoyment of their music. It's not just them either, this is why I'm apprehensive about liking new artists in general.

Secret because: I'm okay with liking, for example, Ender's Game (not watching the film, by the way) but not Orson Scott Card, so why is it different for music?

If you really can't stand being a fan of anyone who has flaws or has made mistakes, how can you really be a fan of anyone who isn't fictional?

Are you implying that OSC's calling for violent revolution should us scary queers be treated as equal human persons under the law is simply a "mistake"?

No. But I feel it's a little irrational to be afraid that every person you like to be a fan of is going to have a similar skeleton somewhere in their closet.

You're right though, I wasn't really thinking of OSC when I made my comment. I guess I thought if they were really that afraid, then they'd be reacting to things far lesser than that.
