"A new character will be introduced in or around Episode 20 (which will serve as a planted pilot for the new show). That character will then anchor the spin-off."

New character, dumbass, so it obviously can't be Felicia Day, who has already appeared in the show.

Jesus, what could Felicia have done to have you foaming and spamming every thread with mention of her 1000 times about how terrible, slutty (?) and ugly she is.

Honestly. Felicia Day's not the best actor or writer, but she's a sweetheart and a genuine nerd. You're really just making yourself look like a cunt, tbqh.

Maybe they both auditioned for the part, and rage-monkey-anon just can't let it go. Some therapy does seem to be in order, though.

I think it's going to fail.

I feel like at this point, spinning off from Supernatural (and in general, spinning off from shows that have been running a really, really long time) is actually detrimental to a show's health. People who are actually fans of the show are probably not going to like it because they're mostly still watching Supernatural because of things they like that are specific to Supernatural - because they're committed to the characters and they've invested a ton of time already - and so a lot of them are not going to care about a new, unrelated show. And people who aren't still watching Supernatural are going to ignore the spinoff because it's like Supernatural and they don't like Supernatural.

I hope it's good and it succeeds, but who knows

There are few details so far, but apparently a new character will be introduced in episode 20 (of this or next season it doesn't say) who will be the main character of the spinoff. The Supernatural will act as a 'planted pilot' for the new show. They're saying it's going to be focused in a more 'citified' (urban?) setting instead of the constant travel of Supernatural.

Personally, I think I'll definitely check this out. I've been getting tired of the 'Sam and Dean Show' and wanting new characters for awhile, and would love to see some more world building by exploring hunting in an urban setting from the pov of a new cast.

It sounds a lot like how they did the pilot for The Finder, the Bones spin off show.
Now I'm sad because the Finder got canceled. I rather liked it.

Hey, Finder buddy! Yeah, it does sound like the same process. Hopefully it'll be as nice as The Finder was.

I do think the Bones connection hurt The Finder more than it helped it. So who knows.

Great. Another opportunity for there to be a virtually all-male cast and for what few females there are to be killed off. Count me out.

Eh, I'd totally watch a spinoff about the angels, but I don't know if a totally new character will hold my interest or not. Have to wait and see, I guess.
