It wasn't [i]terrible[/i], but Supernatural's first season is the weakest of the bunch.

Gonna really disagree with you there. All things considered, the first three seasons were the strongest.

Adored the first few seasons of Supernatural, particularly the first. I really liked the MOTW format, and everything between Sam & Dean wasn't weighted down with the convoluted layers of angst and mythology and woe that have just been heaped upon them in the latter seasons.

I also liked the MOTW eps and less bullshit mythology and angst taking over everything.

Both agree and disagree. Every show takes some time to really hit its stride, and SPN is no exception. Also--and this is probably going to be a topic that eternally divides the fandom--I'm one of those heretics who think the show didn't fully come into its own until Season 4.

However, having said all that, IMO Seasons 6 and 7 are about tied for the weakest, with 1 coming next.
