I regret finding out that she got her start writing fanfiction because now I can't unsee how full of typical fandom tropes her work is.

The Big Name Fan in my fandom recently recommended my fic, and I'm just going [super wide eyes emoticon] YOU NOTICED ME!!! She's super nice and never wanky, and ever time I've talked to her she's always been very sweet. I've been squeeing for days. ;alsdkfjawe;roiUASDFLKJQ23ASKj.

I find their music catchy and especially like Internet Killed The Video Star and The Future. Haven't listened to all the latest album, but seems promising. I'm just worried that if I continue reading about them, I'll find something that bothers me enough to ruin my enjoyment of their music. It's not just them either, this is why I'm apprehensive about liking new artists in general.

Secret because: I'm okay with liking, for example, Ender's Game (not watching the film, by the way) but not Orson Scott Card, so why is it different for music?

Fandom friends are the only thing keeping me going to finish my PhD especially the days when I wish I had a partner. I am doing a PhD. This [comparison chart] is on my wall because it's sad but funny.

Ph.D. means "Doctor of Philosophy". It's better known as "Doctorate".

I absolutely freak out whenever I get a review. My fandom is pretty small, so when I get that notification e-mail, I get pretty excited. I promise you this is NOT a sex thing, but I always flail and start squealing and moaning. It usually takes me a couple minutes to actually go and read the comment.

All of my social media is flooded with people crying and mourning his death. Everyone feels so sorry for him. I don't. All I see is another person who had everything and wasted it. He had a very successful career, a Significant Other who seemed to love him, and lots of friends. He had a dream life compared to most people. But he CHOSE to toss it all away. He had the money to get help; the tools and the support to quit but he didn't. I have watched people I love do the same thing. You can only excuse an addicts behavior and choices so long.

Secret because: Glee fandom would kill anyone who said anything bad about him.
