While I admit there's a certain amount of hyperbole going on in this thread, I think this comment comes pretty close:

Taking drugs is an action that is KNOWN to lead to addiction. Anyone who makes that CHOICE to take drugs does not get to act like a helpless victim when the KNOWN consequences arrive, as they WILL DO.

That comment still doesn't say anything at all about deserving anything. That comment says that addicts shouldn't pretend that their addiction wasn't started due to their choices.
