The first couple of episodes of Person of Interest felt... off. Kind of wooden.

But then it inexplicably became amazing. I don't know.

Seconding this, except it was about 6 or 7 eps for me. Like, it suddenly looked at itself and went, "OH HEY I am not just some case of the week show. I got me some recurring characters that's right I forget no one."

I've only watched up til Episode 16 of Season 2 - does it get better after that? I... don't really like Shaw that much. :/

For me, the show just kept getting better after the first quarter of S1, so I can't really say anything other than dropping it if the show just isn't working for you.

I loved Shaw's episode though quite a bit since it's the only one that wasn't lead/done from the perspective of Finch and Reese, showed us who does the "official" numbers work, and I totally dug her loner sadbadassness. Plus I was shipping her with Root by the end of it uh. I'm kind of biased here. But, mind the spoilers(?), she only shows up in three episodes iirc, and the one she's introduced in is the only one centered around her.
