7. Is it too much to ask that people start judging books based on their own merits? I'm not familiar with the Stroud book, but I know enough about the others to know that none of them deal with teenage wizards in a boarding school.

You can't compare novels like that just because they're in the same genre. Whether they're 'better' or 'worse' is very much a matter of opinion. I personally don't care if I can't change yours, but the fact that you've decided to make other people's opinions matter so much in the first place is really stupid.

15. I used to do this a lot. I even got my hands on a few of those old Guardians of Order anime fanbooks just so I can see what stats they had written down for the main characters (and lol sorry, GoO, but I don't agree).
