I don't think I'd go that far, but it is a general anxiety I have (hence it's a secret because I know it's not logical). I probably would be thrilled to have people paying attention to my stuff, and I realize I could just Word of God stuff I don't like. Probably wouldn't stuff FF.net, though, just because I think Anne Rice went overboard in that regard.

if you ever get published, you'll be encouraged not to read fanfiction of your work anyway so why does it matter?
