Then I'm not entirely sure what the problem is with losing a small bit of respect for someone who proves that they either didn't understand one of the explicitly detailed facets of the story... or willfully chose to ignore them.

Well, I ship Fran/Miles because they have an interesting relationship with each other, and I'm a sucker for childhood friend ships. However, I don't ship it in a non-platonic way. I just like seeing them together. I hope there's nothing wrong with liking two characters together.

I was under the impression that the term "ship" implied non-platonic romance. >_> At least, that's how I was using it in the original secret. If not, uh... whoops. My bad. Because their friendship is completely awesome and adorable.

people choose to ignore that Sam and Dean are actual blood-related brothers. Or Simon and River are blood sibilings, yet still write incest taking that into account. They don't place it on this pedestal as some how being more holy and therefore shouldn't be written lest they risk losing the respect of someone they don't even know except online because they've chosen to write it anyway, KNOWING they are blood siblings.
