One of my good friends was adopted from Colombia when he was an infant; his parents (they're sterile) have also adopted children from Korea, Japan, and Somalia. He, his sister, and two brothers are all from different countries and different biological parents. They're certainly not related by blood.

But if you tried to tell him to his face that he and his sister/brothers aren't family; that they aren't siblings? I'm not sure if he'd punch you or just laugh in your face.

*sighs* Where did I say anything about family? The OP said incest. By definition, incest is when two or more people related by blood...you know what? I don't care. See my reply above.

Ok, I'm not familiar with the fandom either (and not a fan of the 'lose respect' aspect of that secret) but personally, I find it incredibly insulting that you cannot see how incest between adopted siblings is pretty much the same as incest between biological siblings. Most people's objections to incest are due to psychological implications and the dangers of inbreeding.

My brother is my brother. The fact that he was born to another mother does not change that. I forget that he is adopted. My mother forgets that she did not give birth to him.

The OPs issue appears to be with the relationship between the two characters, not any possible offspring. The secret addresses the psychological issues with incest.

Pretty much, yeah. Emotional incest, not biological incest.

Once more, with feeling: When I replied to the secret, I did not know the couple referenced were supposedly raised as siblings. When this was pointed out, I allowed as to how yes, that would change things.

I do not think you should have sex with your brother. Ever. Really and truly. Sincerely and with every fiber of my being.

So...?

From that post, it would be reasonable to assume you, personally, do not view adopted sibling incest as 'real' incest. I was addressing that misconception.
