I admit a certain hatred for Lyra, who struck me as such a brat that I never made it past the first book of HDM. I don't have any desire to touch Eragon or Twilight with a ten-foot pole.

But John Mandrake's brooding angst and wild-eyed stare (and better yet, Bartimaeus' LOLing at any and all of J's woe) pwns Harry Potter's capslock abusing ass.
