14 OP
(Anonymous) 2007-10-02 03:30 am (UTC)(link)I don't think that liking a mainstream pairing makes anyone inferior (pretty much all my friends love'em; I fully understand their reasons and I do support them to death), but the attitude that certain fans have towards odd pairings is not just unfair but rude, they're the persons I'm trying to get away from. (And it's the same the other way around, from crack fans to canon ones, I know that too and can't stand that either.)
I must say I don't bash those who like canon pairings, why would I?
However, I would wish some people (from the fandom in general) were a bit more open-minded and stopped the rant, even if I've learnt to ignore them or laugh at them. I'm trying to do my part, and I'm nice with everyone no matter if they ship something I like or not.
It's hard to deal with those who insult the other people, though.
Re: 14 OP
I have to admit, though (as stupid as it is), I can see the point of the non-mainstream shippers more easily than that of the mainstream: 'You haven't even looked past what the series practically handed you; how shallow is that?' Mainstream shippers... I'm not sure what they're trying to say by hating on non-mainstream pairings, honestly.
And ftr, Momo/Oishi is crazy cute. I've never seen it done, but I can imagine it would be awesome. ☆
