Do small fandoms even really have BNFs? My last fandom was pretty small and I can't really think of anyone who fell under this. There was no particular fan 'everyone' knew because we all knew each other. Genuinely curious about this. I guess if it's a bit of a dying fandom and there's someone who reignites it, they'd be pretty big? Or the one person who writes decent fic in the fandom? I genuinely assumed small fandoms didn't have this sort of issue, ha.

I think maybe to people not IN the small fandom it would look like a BNF


but in the fandom...it's just everyone knowing each other, with the biggest "indicator" simply being activity levels.
