(Anonymous) 2013-07-24 12:34 am (UTC)(link)--Being blissed out whenever you eat fast food because it used to be "too expensive" ("WOW I'M EATING A WHOLE EXTRA VALUE MEAL WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE" "I HAVE THIS PERSONAL PAN PIZZA AND I DON'T EVEN NEED TO SHARE IT!!!")
--Spending surprise money ASAP on Fun Things in the fear it will somehow summon surprise Normal Expenses and vanish into nothingness
--Being extremely impressed whenever you get a present no matter how cheap
--Telling people who give you presents "It's too much!" and trying to pay them back for them

Er, that got long, but OMG - "Spending surprise money ASAP on Fun Things in the fear it will somehow summon surprise Normal Expenses and vanish into nothingness" -- is something we are having to learn to deal with, because we actually have the money to be able to start saving and stuff. But having spent so many years with any extra money going POOF.....

(Anonymous) 2013-07-24 10:43 am (UTC)(link)"In the fear"? In. The. Fear? This is a sad, true fact! You get some tax return? The next week you lock yourself out from you apartment with only a piece of paper clutched in your hand and you had to use your neighbor's phone to call an emergency locksmith. Of course, with emergency prices.
You count on summer months being "less expensive", because there's no heating bill you have to pay? There's something unexpected in every friggin' month from a fee to a nationwide broadcast-technique change, or something bizarre like that...
Fear... Ugh.
