In the majority of slash I've read, I've actually noticed that most authors prefer only one of the pairing to give head too. Usually it being the dominant one, or the 'top'.
I've always wondered why that it. Is it the power play, 'top in control' dynamic that's appealing?

I honestly think it might just be to do with formulaic scene-writing; it's a convenient way for a lazy writer to ensure that the bottom gets off.

69ing is harder to write (because same pronouns + same actions = wheee), and mutual orgasms are like the holy grail of written erotica. Let's not even go into the darth of "I don't feel like coming right now but I'd totally like to make you!".

I'm a huge, huge fan of sex scenes where only one person comes and it's okay, instead of being shorthand for neglect or abuse or stress or whatever. I probably wouldn't love it so much if it wasn't so rare.

Happy to buck the trend then. I don't care which of my OTP gives head. For first times it tends to be the canonically more sexually experienced one; otherwise I'm for equality.

me too.
