TNG, yaaaay!

[personal profile] riddian 2013-07-25 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
I am liking all the TNG secrets we've been having lately, especially since I've been watching it all the way through for the first time lately. Does anyone have a favorite episode? I just watched "Q-Who?" which is when the Borg are introduced and I thought it was... weird (great job introducing horrifying Borg babies in their first episode, yikes!) but very interesting.

Also, favorite characters! Mine is Transporter Chief O'Brien, what's yours? :D

I was at the dread walmart today and saw that season sets of TNG have FINALLY come down to a reasonable price -- $35 a pop. Took a ton of willpower to not snatch a bunch of them up.

I'm all about Locutus, so that whole arc just makes me happy. Yet, strangely, one of my favorite episodes is Rascals, the one where Picard, Guinan and Keiko O'Brien are turned into kids. For some reason "Number One...uh..I mean...He's my Number One Dad! :D" made a huge impression on me.

I'm lucky, I have Netflix and pretty much every Star Trek show ever made is on instant streaming. Saves me a lot of DVD space.

I only vaguely remember Locutus! I'm looking forward to actually seeing what that's all about, because seriously how do you un-assimilate someone?

Were they the remastered DVDs or the old ones?

LOL. This actually inspired me to rewatch that episode tonight.

Though the episode as a whole isn't a favorite, the scene from "Hide and Q" with Picard and Q quoting Shakespeare at each other has always stuck in my mind. Likewise Picard's and Riker's respective arguments for and against Data's personhood in "The Measure of a Man." "Elementary, Dear Data" and "Relics" definitely stand out for me, as well as Riker's New Orleans sojourn on the Holodeck in "11001001." And any episode with Lwaxana Troi in it. XD

Data-centric episodes are always fun! The one where he's trying to figure out humor... oh man. And "Elementary, Dear Data" is pure gold.

Wait... there's more than one episode with Lwaxana?! Oh snap this is gonna be awesome.
