Actually, one of my favorite DH moments involved James. How he forgot his wand when going to try and hold off Voldemort. Yes, it was incredibly stupid and almost suicidal... but the sheer futility of it, how he went to face the most powerful dark wizard EVER completely unarmed just for the sake of buying his family a few extra seconds?

Made me <3 him all the more.

I think that JKR frequently chose to emphasize that it was the choices you made rather than anything else that made you who you were. This is most prominently embodied in the Sorting Hat, of course.

But look at the characters who didn't exactly grow up in the best of environments. Voldemort and Snape succumbed to their darker desires... but then you have characters like Harry and Sirius (and Regulus, if a bit later in life) who made choices that led their paths away from where their upbringing might have led them.

15 is the end of the first arc

17 is the start of the timeskip

whether it's "better" is personal opinion.

lots of people say the timeskip was amazing, but others say that 8-15 was the high point of the show and as close to a "perfect show" as you can get.

but again, it's all a matter of preference.

My own secret? When I'm sad, I watch the music video for "Who Is It?", with the jingle bells. It always makes me unreasonably happy.

I can understand. I just finally made it to 10 (hey, I go to college ;~;) and the whole "KAMINA ISN'T HERE WOEEEEE" is like D: It's just currently all the characters except Leeron and Nia are getting on my nerves so I can't wait to finish the first arc and get to time skip and see epic space fights.
