Otaku shows = shows that generally appeal to otaku rather than mainstream audiences. Haruhi, Lucky Star, etc. The anime equivalent of a "cult hit." if you will.

LOL, okay, maybe I'll watch it. I've been pretty bored with anime since the end of Code Geass season 1.

Well, as someone who agrees wholeheartedly with the poster of 23, I say that you should watch a few episodes and make up your own mind. However, if you're not a fan of Getta Robo, Voltron, Japanese Transformers, Mazinger Z or any of the other 1970s robot anime, you will miss most of the references. Because, yes, it is an otaku show.

Plus I think Yoko's outfit is pretty stupid for a gunslinger. The costume designer has clearly never thought about support. Even the Dirty Pair on duty wear more.
