F!S, what is your checklist for a trip?

[personal profile] kallanda_lee 2013-07-25 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
What items do you definitely take with you? What are you scared of forgetting to bring?

1. Tablet, ereader, phone, and outlet converter, when applicable. Also, one (1) all-purpose coat and comfortable shoes.

2. My ID.

I love you a little for this.

Also, it reminded me to pack my pills and condoms...

I get really obsessive about packing and paranoid of forgetting something, so after a while I have to step back and tell myself, "pills, pillow, and Pan" - birth control, pillow, and stuffed tiger. If I've got those three, I can work around anything else I missed.

Laptop and books. If not, then my Iphone. Without those three, I will CEASE to function in any environment.

1) Toothbrush, shampoo, other toiletries
2) Phone + charger (!!!)
3) At least $200 in cash.
4) And shirts that are not just the same colour as my pants.

Things that I NEED:

- Phone.
- Kindle.
- DS.
- Hairdryer(my hair does not dry quickly on it's own at all so blow drying is needed).
- Straightners.
- Mp3 player.
- Various electronics chargers.

I always make sure to pack everything a day beforehand and the things that need to be done in the morning on the day and while I swear that I wont forget anything I always do, usually my wash stuff because I am so busy fretting over phone/game console chargers.

If I need tickets or my passport for a trip I am always super paranoid and scared that I've misplaced them or will do so, I end up checking obsessively over them before and during the trip.

For an actual "pack your suitcase, get on a plane" trip:

1. Definitely my computer, phone, wallet, a book, and my gameboy. Bag of snacks depending on how long the flight is. This one's a bit more kiddish, but I still like to bring this stuffed rabbit I won at a carnival when I was four with me. He actually makes a really great plane pillow and recently I've started to take pictures of him in places like the Travelocity Gnome.

2. My chargers. Sleeping pants, underwear, and/or socks. Wallet and ID. Everything else I can survive without.

wallet(ID), clothes, dog. Phone if I own one at the time.

Phone, charger, pills. Probably a sweater (or, um, four). A book is good. I'm mostly paranoid about being separated from my medication, though. I went home in college and forgot to pack them once and I beat myself up about it all weekend even though I had an emergency supply there of everything I needed. :\ "If I forget my pills for a three day trip home, I could forget them when I'm going somewhere else!" /irrational

I'm always afraid I'd going to forget my passport/wallet.

I make a list about two weeks before a major trip, pack the bag a week before this way I can recheck it several times before leaving.

I never leave without my journal. It's just a notebook but it's traveled around the world with me. And my camera.

No matter how obsessively I list and pack... I almost always seem to forget my pyjamas... I don't know why!

But my must pack list:

1. Meds
2. Computer
3. Chargers (!!)
4. iPod/headphones

[ ] Passport
[ ] Underwear

Everything else is optional. I'm used to worry, nigh on panic, about leaving something behind that I *might* want in the other country (raised in the US, studied and living in Canada), but I learned it's really not that big a deal. Absolute worst-case scenario, I can wash the clothes I'm wearing in a sink, and you only really need a second set of underwear so you don't get arrested for exposure. xP
