He goes on to say he didn't appreciate it as a kid and it wasn't until he was older that he understood the appeal. Now it's his favorite show. (Or one of them, can't remember the exact phrasing.)

Actually, iirc, it wasn't until he started doing the movie and rewatched them he got some appreciation for them...but also that he was making the movies for people "like him"* which...really does not bode well for any of the future movies.

*with the implication of that didln't like the series because it was too "philosophical"
