this

the way society treats single moms and single dads is pretty messed up. a lot of people I know act like the idea of a single dad is baffling, as if they literally can't imagine it. hell, a lot of plot lines in sitcoms still center around dads trying to take care of their children (even for just an afternoon) and being utterly terrible at it and it basically ends up as "look, he can't even change a diaper right! And he's trying to bring a baby into a bar, he's so incompetent! men suck at taking care of babies hahahaha".

And at the same time you will see in this sitcom episode that sexy single women flock to this father-type and all pad him on the back, sleep with him because he's so nurturing and great.

And this is what I have experienced in my life.
My biological mother was mentally unstable and suicidal. Eventually my biological father divorced her and my brother and me were given to him.
I'm 28 now and my father still gets treated like a hero for raising two kids all alone while the "crazy-ass slut" was "in the nut house".
