Mental/emotional comfort food?

[personal profile] cakemage 2013-07-27 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
So, I've been feeling really depressed and off-kilter lately and I'm not entirely sure why. It's probably just the build-up of a lot of shitty little factors that have contributed to this summer's overall suckiness, plus maybe it's time to have my meds adjusted, but never mind all of that. Anyway, in my spare time I've been indulging in my sad little "cheer-up" rituals, which mostly involve playing happy, soothing games while watching bright, colorful movies and shows, then looking at funny cat macros for a while and then falling asleep while reading. For the most part this regimen keeps the worst of the blerg-ness at bay, but right now I'm running low on movies/shows/books/etc. that I haven't seen so many times that they're seriously getting old. So I figured I'd ask the fine people of f!s for mood-lifting media recs. What helps you cope with bad days and depression lows?

*hugs* if you want them?

Is Card Captor Sakura in your list? If not, it should be.

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is good for that sort of thing too.

*hugs back* Thank you! I'll probably go through your list and check each one out sometime tomorrow. Also, I've been wanting to re-watch CCS soon-ish as well, so I'll have to see if it's on Netflix.
