I don't mind the song interludes. I've heard a bunch of different music I wouldn't have heard otherwise.

My fav is the bus song. So damn catchy. My least fav is the song about peaches.

The bus song is definitely my favorite of the ones I've heard so far. I find myself singing it at random intervals (and to mess w/ my SO, who doesn't enjoy it as much as me.)

I am embarrassed to admit that I really liked the peaches song (Bill & Annie) and I don't know why.

I'm in love with the Messiah one in E5. The weird techno/rap that's in some of the later segments? Not so much.

Was anyone else expecting some sort of...payoff from the peaches song?

I think the choices for music are really interesting, and I've been listening to some songs I've heard on WtNV.

I was honestly considering posting a secret about this. I wouldn't go as far as editing them out, but I only found 1 song that I didn't immediately skip and was sort of OK. The rest was mostly bland indie-flavoured sameness.

Second secret I've read about this show that I'd never heard of before, and the art looks awesome. I might check it out...what's it about? Is it good?

It's not a show,it's a podcast about the city of Night Vale, where all sorts of weird things happen. It's funny and creepy and definitely worth listening to.You can find some transcripts and go through them to see it you like the style?

It's a podcast, and if you're looking for something funny/creepy to make your day interesting, I would suggest this heartily although some of the humor is a hit and miss for me.

Link.

It's creepy but hilarious, and done in the style of community radio news.

[Picture is the logo of the podcast "Welcome To Night Vale". It's a town at night with a purple sky, a crescent moon that looks like part of a sinister eye, an electricity pole, a water tower, and a barn or house with an antenna.]

I love this show. But I hate the stupid song weather segment. I don't know if the songs are supposed to be funny but they just annoy me. I have seriously been thinking of editing them out of my copies.

They're pretty hit or miss for me but I wouldn't want them take out. They're part of the program! It would be weird (to me) if they were suddenly no longer there.

I honestly liked only two or so of them. I fast forward through them.

I didn't like them at first but they've kind of grown on me, they crack me up sometimes. I'm not very far into the show though, they might get old.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-28 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Am I alone in that I love all of the weather songs? I even bought a few even though I could just as easily copy them from the podcast files.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-28 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't liked all of them, but they're not supposed to be funny. It's really obvious from context that they're meant to feature the artists and some of the songs are quite sad.

The weather segment is one of my favorite parts of WtNV. I can see how it wouldn't be everyone's thing, though.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-29 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
The first couple of episode's weather segments seemed kind if bland. But around the 4th or something episode, I began to really like the songs. But I could understand why someone might not like them OP, there's some styles of music you either love or hate :)

I love the weather section, but I usually listen to it when I'm doing yardwork or taking a walk, so it's nice to have something with a beat for a few minutes.
funyarinpainahat: (Default)

[personal profile] funyarinpainahat 2013-07-29 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
I like them because it's a break from the show. Not that I don't love the show, but I'm always doing something else when I have my headphones in, and the weather gives me a chance to take a break and tune out for a couple of minutes.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-29 07:59 am (UTC)(link)
Oh thank god, I thought I was the only one. I fucking hate most of the songs.
ellazilla: (Default)

[personal profile] ellazilla 2013-07-29 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a few that I sometimes skip past, but overall I really enjoy the music and it has even introduced me to a couple of bands that I wouldn't have otherwise known existed. I'd hate it if they stopped doing it.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-30 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I have a much bigger issue with the credits. I listen to Night Vale as a relaxation thing and the different voice in the credits and the HORRIBLE delivery of the proverb every time always grates on me. I should probably make a text file of all the song credits and stuff and edit them out because going in and out of relaxation is really annoying.

Anon, are you me?

I like the gag of "the weather" being a song rather than a real forecast, but damn I have yet to hear a song that I could give a damn about!
