Anyone else read the old threads?

(Anonymous) 2013-07-28 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I have spent the past week or so going through old fandom secrets posts one by one. I started with the most recent and am now on July 2nd, 2012. Today was no exception. I'm kind of scared though, because 2012 was the last time I posted on Fandom Secrets and I used to be kind of a nutjob. I don't want to relive that.

I do that every now and again. Sometimes I remember a certain secret where there was some interesting conversation that went on, or I want to remember some old secrets I sent in.

The old secrets are exactly what I'm afraid of. I was involved in some massive wank, most of it logged in. I think it'll be cool, though, because I don't remember some of it.

Now and again, usually when I'm looking up classic wank.

I'm reading up on all the wank I missed out on after I went into hiding. I'll have a field day once I finally get back to the wank I started/helped grow.

I do, but I haven't for awhile. There are a bunch of posts since I've been coming here regularly that I missed for whatever reason and I like going back to see if there were any interesting conversations.

I used to when I didn't come to the comm on a regular basis. Now when I go back to look at old threads it's usually because I'm looking for a specific rec/comment/secret/whatever. I like looking at secrets from years ago more than recent ones and seeing what the fandom trends and wank were about.

If you don't want to relive the wank why not just skip your comments?

You underestimate exactly how often I was involved in the wank. For a period of several months, if there were angry comments, I was there. Sometimes anon but usually not. It will be very hard to skip but I'm a big girl now so I should be able to say 'this is not me anymore.'

Ah well, unless you want to skip the majority of certain threads or just stop reading I don't know what to tell you. People make mistakes, so even if you feel ashamed reading your old comments you can just remind yourself that things are different now; just accepting your faults and that you made mistakes and wanting to change is a step in the right direction.

I used to occasionally, usually when looking for a specific wank or something, but it's a lot of time to comb through old posts like that. Especially when F!S has new content every day, and wanks fairly often. I'm not dedicated enough to catalogue every little wank about huskies and soap dishes.

If I'm looking for fandom-specific secrets, I'll look up the air/release dates of the thing and click around the weeks I think secrets would have shown up. It's handy when I think I have a hunch certain episodes, chapters, or games and films will have a "spike" on f!s.

Ikr? Once you're on the right page, things are relatively easy to find, but I usually don't have the time or bandwidth to go hunting through a week's worth of posts. @___@
