Really? The one I played sure did.

Also, wtf Mario game *doesn't* have a save file?

Oh god, I'm just embarrassed for you.

You sound like you're talking to someone who just made a horrible bigoted comment or something. I'm wondering if you are one of those anons who hates certain people on f!s or if you are just trying to stir up drama.

The one on the NES didn't, I don't think... I haven't played it since I was a kid, but I don't remember being able to save.

The NES ones do not - NES carts didn't have battery RAM like SNES carts.

Super Mario All-Stars (SNES, Super Mario 1-3 and something called Lost Levels, I think) had save slots.

NES carts didn't have battery RAM like SNES carts.

A lot of them did. All RPGs, for instance. And Zelda. The Mario games didn't, but something like Dragon Warrior or Final Fantasy without the ability to save would be obscene.

Ahh, that makes sense. I played the version for GBC.

That seems really odd though. No save? How on Earth did you ever win? Did you literally have to do all 32 levels in a single sitting??

DA - One sitting, and/or very long pauses. Games weren't very long back then. Several hours at most.

Diet... don't take this the wrong way, but some people are a LOT better then you.

Also... warp zones.

Beating the game in five minutes.

I was a little upset when I saw this comment but then I saw that it was you.

It's really weird to hear someone call me "diet" too o_O

this comment makes me feel so old lmao

I was always relieved when a game actually gave you passcodes for levels I could throw a damn party

Sorry ;-; I played the version of Super Mario for NES once, but I think I was like ten years old, so I don't remember very much about it. I never owned it.

Passcodes are awesome. Some flash games use them (though I'm not sure why tbh...they're flash games, memory shouldn't be an issue)

Room on that porch for another old-timer? We'll yell at the whippersnappers together. XD

Back in the gaming 'dark ages', kids would get together and marathon play; one person taking over for another when they tired out.

This is how my brother and I beat Rampage, with some friends. It took us 8 hours.
