Re: Unlikeable characters

For me, it's more whether the character in question goes through any sort of character growth. If they start unpleasant and end up slightly less unpleasant, or even a different sort of unpleasant, that's one thing, but if there's zero self-reflection and the character never grows or changes, that's a big "nope" for me. Of course, suffering the consequences of being a jerkass is a good way to cause that character growth.
