And some of these rumors are true, considering the whole Corey Feldman/Corey Haim thing.

That much smoke doesn't come from nowhere? Why not? It could be false rumors spread by jealous people who love picking on the ugly fat guys of the world.

Yeah, the fact that the rumours about Dan Schneider and so consistent and also consistent with his public behaviour (being obviously a little too infatuated with the underage stars of the shows he produces) is what makes me give a bit more credence to the rumours. Either way, I think it's as naive to uncritically believe in blind items as it is to believe that exploitation and some level of abuse of child/teen stars doesn't go on in places like Disney and Nick. People are willing to a turn a blind eye to a lot of stuff for fame/their career, and smart predators get scarily good at hiding themselves in institutions - the Jimmy Savile case in Britain is just a recent example of how this can happen.

Stand back for a second and realize how ridiculous you sound. Let's stop pretending that Dan Schneider controls all of the elements of the shows from the scripts, daily costumes, etc. Let's remember for a second that it's his job to create TV shows that appeal to kids and teenagers. Just because a big fat guy is making shows that focus around a certain age group doesn't make him a perverted rapist. It's a hugely gross accusation and rumor-based gossip like this really fucking hurts the people involved and it needs to stop.

This is a guy who has not even had so much as an accusation against him by any of the people who have starred on his shows (comparing him to Jimmy Savile is awful). This is a guy who has a close relationship with fans of the show. This is a guy who gets tons of hate based on pure cynicism.

I bet if he were of average size and stature... I bet that if he was female... I bet if he was conventionally attractive... nobody would have even thought that load of shit up.

Dan creeps me out more because of how he acts online wrt his young actresses. I mean, he posted an on-set video where Ariana was laying on the floor, talking about how everyone could see down her dress. I'm not saying I believe every rumor about him, but I don't get a good vibe from him.

Awkwardness I can pick up, but I don't see the creepy. Everyone on set is too comfortable and relaxed for him to be a genuine creep. They actually remind me a lot of some videos my friends and I made back in high school, so I guess I just see it from a completely different angle. Dan is just a big kid. :\

An adult being a big kid *can* be really creepy.

I wasn't saying Dan Schneider is a predator on the same level as Savile, or even definitively a predator. I was using an example of how a predator can exist in an industry without "even... so much as an accusation against him", to use your own words. Another example of a creeper who is unconscionably popular despite both rumours and first hand accounts of his creepiness is Terry Richardson. I agree though that the comparison between Schneider and Savile, if I had made it, would have been unfair, and I should have made my point more clear.

That said, as an outsider, I find what I've heard of Dan's behaviour creepy and suggestive. It has nothing at all to do with what he looks like, and frankly you sound ridiculous trying to suggest that is my motivation. Did I mention his appearance at all in my previous comments? I don't think so. Frankly, I can't even think of a stereotype where the 'big fat guy' is the sex offender, so I don't even know
where you're coming from with that.

Additionally, as an outsider repeating a blind item rumour on F!S that, judging from the replies to this secret alone, isn't very well known at all, I don't see how I'm seriously posing a thread to his career or rep. After all, the last I heard he was still raking it in since the tween TV formula he's using hasn't passed its use-by-date (no pun intended).

Part and parcel of being in show business is fielding rumours like this, for better or worse. Frankly, I sincerely hope they are are just rumours, for the sake of the girls he works with. But sometimes there's no smoke without fire. Unfortunately, if Dan Schneider isn't creeping on teens, I'm 99% sure that someone else working at Nick (and Disney) is.

So, you're saying the reason why Amanda Bynes went on paranoid/racist twitter rantings against a model, the police, and Rihanna, was caught doing drugs more than once, and almost lit her dog on fire was because she was raped as a child? Do you know how much of a HUGE leap this is? Especially since it seems far more likely that she has Schizophrenia or some other form of psychosis?

Spreading rumors like this can be extremely damaging. It seems more likely that you guys are way too into conspiracy theories than the truth.

I'm repeating a rumour I heard which if true could very plausibly have contributed to Amanda's current mental state. Not actually that huge a leap. Yes, it seems that she has Schizophrenia or a form of psychosis, but that is not mutually exclusive with her having experienced past trauma. Whatever the truth, I feel sympathy for her.

However, to paraphrase what I said before, I think an anon on F!S is the least of her worries at the moment.
