Resistance is futile.

Earlier today I was outfitted with an ambulatory EEG in the hopes of finding out the truth behind my frequent and intense dizzy spells. I now have eighteen wires glued to my head, all of which are connected a monitor that I'm wearing on a sash, which is itself connected to another monitor on a belt. I currently resemble a homeless Borg crack addict (which I actually don't mind too much) and since I'm not allowed to shower or even brush my hair while wearing this contraption, this is probably the best I'm going to look until it gets taken off on Thursday. I wouldn't mind those aspects or even the discomfort so much if I could actually assimilate people, but apparently that ability costs extra. Oh, well. I also wish I could go see my horse while wearing this, as he's such a wuss that I'm sure his reaction would be priceless. Can't risk damaging the equipment, though, so whatcha gonna do.

Anyway, since I probably won't be going out much for the next few days, I'd love a few internet time-waster recs.

tumblr

The only time waster you will ever need. It's not just for pop culture fandom. There are group dedicated to the beauty of sinks and stairs. No, really. Sinks, stairs AND couches. If you can think it, there's a group for it.

And I really hope they find out what's wrong with your head. And I hope it's something simple and cheap, VERY CHEAP medicine can fix. Good luck.

Thank you! Fingers crossed that they find out what's going on and I don't have to do any more of these tests.

I've already become a bit addicted to Text From Last Night tumblrs, especially Disney Ladies From Last Night and Utena: Texts From Last Night, but I suppose it's time I did some more in-depth tumblr explorations.

Thanks! I just hope it turns out to be something easy to control, you know?

In the meantime, I expect I'll have a lot of fun with these links (♥ Nostalgia Chick), so thanks again!

Ugh, that would suck! I had to get yearly EEGs during most of my childhood due to epilepsy and I hated it. I can't imagine having to walk around with the wires and the itchy goo they attach with.

Good luck with the tests and I hope everything works out!

Thanks! Luckily, the nurse who hooked me up was really gentle with me and fun to talk to as well. Also, the glue they use for the ambulatory isn't nearly as itchy as the crud they use for normal EEGs, so that's fortunate too. But seriously, I can barely stand having these sorts of tests done as an adult, I can only imagine how much it must suck for kids. I'm so ready for someone to invent medical tricorders like they have on Star Trek.

Todd in the Shadows

If you like Avatar: TLA, Nostalia critic has been doing vlogs on it as he watches the episodes, and it's pretty interesting to see him get more invested in it [and his brother keeps showing up since it seems like he's a pretty big fan too =D]

You could always watch Next Gen?

Yeah, I should go ahead and watch his A:tLA reviews now that he's nearing the end of the series. I was going to wait until he was done with the first series and then watch them all in chunks, but I might as well start on them now considering he'll probably be on LoK by the time I've caught up.

Good luck with your tests. You can assimilate me.

Um, I hear Welcome to Night Vale is great. I've started listening right now. I'm on the pilot.

Aw, that's so sweet! Thank you!

Man, with all of the great recs I've been getting, I basically have no excuse to be bored this week.
