If the channel didn't cancel the show after the first season the fandom would have been *even* bigger. (See? I've fixed it for you. :-) (I really hope your if-clause was grammatically correct.))

No, seriously, this show has a crazy episode/fic ratio: 176 fic on AO3 and 180 on FF.Net for only 12 (12! 12!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) episodes. That's awful lot. As I've seen, more than 80 percent of said stories are slash, Travis/Wes of course.

To place things in perspective, let's take "The Good Guys"? Do you remember "The Good Guys"? Actually, nobody remembers "The Good Guys, even I don't remember them, because I didn't have the chance to see the series as it haven't been aired in my country. It aired on Fox in 2010: one buddy-cop show, two very white male leads (Colin Hanks & Bradley Whitford), twenty episodes, good reviews, and still one very big misfire as I've been told. Six stories on FF.Net, and not even a category on AO3, and that's how one-season cancels usually go.

I tend to like a lot of shows with only one season, the usual fanfic-quantity is practically zero to none, and this makes me almost angry at "Common Law", because it's kind of still going: there are gifs on Tumblr, and there are all the serial killer crossovers, and there are the crazy AUs, where Wes is a son of another show's male "couple", and the other historic/contemporary/whatever AUs are coming too, and I'm pretty sure fans will find "Almost Human" too, this seems that kind of fandom.

I think this show was pure "porn", and this, with the leads' chemistry, is the only (or at least main) reason the fandom exists, nevermind the fact that it's this big.
