Well, I don't agree, but good for you, I guess.

Sierra was KING of PC video games for so long. So many happy gaming hours. I love this secret and you too OP!

[Picture is the covers of the videogames "Dungeon Siege" and "Lords of Magic". Dungeon Siege features a redheaded woman with light skin and bright green eyes wearing metallic armor with spikes on a shoulder a red cape and summoning some sort of fire magic. Lords Of Magic features a long-haired person wielding a lance of sorts while riding a velociraptor?? and the sun from the background obscures the figures, making them appear as silhouettes. They are standing on some sort of partially crumbled piece of soil, possibly floating in the air on a canyon, while two separate kingdoms stand on opposite sides of the canyon. There is light shining down from the heavens and biting the rider and dinosaur.]

Whenever someone talks about the Fantasy genre I automatically think of these two games. I love them in all their cumbersome and unpolished glory. But the real secret is that I actually prefer them over Diablo & Lord of the Rings (respectively).

Lords of Magic was the first really bad game I ever played, and it took me a while to admit to myself that it was actually bad. It was unbalanced as all hell, certain AI units were ridiculously easy to outsmart, and some factions simply weren't viable. (Earth in particular had a speed disadvantage that made logistics unworkable. Water might have been decent if it weren't right next door to the hostile and expansionary Death.)

so do you get to ride a dinosaur in that game to the right

Yes.

I played Lords of Magic so hard for so long and it was awesome and I love you for making this secret

I wish I still had a copy of it, tbh.

Seriously, who calls Diablo a staple of the Fantasy genre? It is far more important to the Hack'n'Slash genre than to Fantasy games, let alone the Fantasy genre as a whole. In terms of fantasy setting you can get hardly more generic and unimpressive than Diablo.

Now if you'd said you like the games better than, say, Baldur's Gate, or Planescape, people might cry out in indignation, but DIABLO???
