I recommend Saint-Paul de Vence. Think Soho or Williamsburg dropped in a castle-like setting. Old buildings? Yep. Historica sites? Yep. Beautiful Scenery? Good Lord, yep. Little Restaurants? Yep. Shops? All that and more.

And it's right around the corner from Nice, which is also a fantastic place to explore.
