Haircut

Today I got my hair cut short for the first time and it's so amazing! It feels so light and free and I think it looks great. My hair has always been long and a pain to wash, and I'm so happy I finally got up the courage to cut it.
What have you changed about your hair lately, F!Sers?

I recently went from super long to super short hair too! And yes, so amazing! I felt taller and lighter and just zero regrets.

I have had dyed hair so consistently for the past howevermany years (bleached and then rainbow colors) when I finally decided to cut off all the colored hair and let it grow out? SHOCKED to see so much white and grey! I mean I know my family goes white early but damn. I thought I'd at least last until my 30's. Or late 20's. Nope.

That lasted for a bit and then I went back to bleaching and fun colors.

That happened to me a few years ago! I'd been using henna for years, but the turnover was a lot faster with my short hair, so I saw a lot of my natural color for the first time since I was a teenager. Apparently, the natural color of a few of my hairs is white.

Not really a big deal to me... My dad always talked about how he was noticeably greying by age 19, and my mom didn't start greying significantly until her late 40s, so grey hair was always less an "OMG AGING" thing and more of a "this happens to adults at some point" thing. But it was interesting that PART OF MY HAIR COULD CHANGE COLOR WITHOUT ME NOTICING. XD

I cut my hair to about two-three inches long about two years ago and loved it. Easy to maintain and looked styled even when I just rolled out of bed. Swimming? Swimming was suddenly fifty times funner. Before I cut it I hated having people touch my head but after I loved getting head massages or having someone running their hands through (what was left of) my hair

But my mother hated it so I grew it out. It grew back in very fast. I daydream about cutting it pretty much every day but even knowing how great it looked and how quickly it grew back in I still have that same anxiety I had before the first cut.

Maybe I should have a wig made out of my hair so I can have short hair and long hair days?

I wish I had the guts to take it that short. I still get it cut to what most women would call awfully short and boy-ish, but damn do I want Ellen or Maddow hair sometimes.

I can honestly say that having hair that short made me feel cute and confident in a way I never had before. And maybe other people didn't agree but I didn't care. And people can say what they want but IME people were a lot more attracted to confident flirty (maybe a leeetle snarky) me than long hair me.

...If I cut my hair off tonight I'm telling my mom it was y'all's fault.

I dye my bangs a new Manic Panic color regularly. (Haven't done that in a while, though... This blue has lasted like a month.) I also bleached my hair about a month and a half ago, and am really liking it. I thought I'd look odd with blonde hair, but I think it looks neat, especially now that it's growing out a bit.

Congrats on the short hair, anon! I started buzzing most of my hair to about an inch long in 2010 or so, and I haven't looked back! :D

I've parted my hair on the side again, I got bored with straight bangs so I'll be growing those out so my hair is more or less a similar length all over(it needs a cut really but I have yet to get my lazy butt to a hairdressers).

I dyed my hair to a lighter brown trying to get blond, but other than that it's been quite a while and I desperately need a haircut. My bangs are practically nonexistent, I don't even comb them out anymore and instead just pin whatever back.

I wish I could pull off short hair :/ Last time I had it I couldn't style it to look good and I realized I had the same style as my German teacher and I felt strangely awkward.

I recently got my hair trimmed for the first time in about ten years. My cousin did it for me while she and her boyfriend were visiting from several states a way. It's looking much better, but I can't wait for it to grow out again. Hopefully is won't get as bad as it was before.

I was a kid the last time I got my hair cut short, people apparently thought it looked very nice. Nice enough they felt compelled to violate my personal space for some reason, and freaking touch my head. I will never get my hair cut short again.

Congrats on your hair cut! I'm glad you like it.

I haven't done anything to it recently. My hair was cut short once and now I keep it long in defiance even though it was nice having it short. I just don't have a face for it. I've dyed it a lot of colors but I'm trying out for jobs right now so doing that would not be in my best interest if I want to make a good first impression.

Soooo... recent change is... that I... washed it...? I don't know I have nothing.

So glad you like it! I went with a pixie cut a couple years back, and I loved it. It felt SO awesome. Unfortunately, it's all grown out again, so I needa get my ass down to the salon and get it trimmed. (I'm just being indecisive about which style I want. >_<)

Well, not recently, but I know how awesome it is to have a massive, good change. A couple of years ago, I cut my hair short. I had had it long pretty much my entire life. For a long time, I had wondered what I would look like with short hair, so I finally took the plunge and got an angled bob. I got a jillion compliments on it, so I obviously made the right decision! I'm happy you made the right decision for your hair too!
