Tablets

(Anonymous) 2013-07-31 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
I've finally decided to get myself a tablet. I'm not getting anything fancy. It's mostly for reading, videos, music and etc. Nothing too fancy.

I'm still trying to decide between the Galaxy Tab 3 or the Nook HD+. I've tried both out thanks to friends. So, I just wait to see what they have in stock at Best Buy.

Speaking of tablets, what do you use your tablet for? What are your favorite apps for them?

I read in the newspaper a week or two ago that Barnes and Noble is getting rid of most of the Nook tablets because they are losing a lot of money on them. Maybe you can get one at a special price?

Hence my reasons of getting that one. It's already pretty heavily discounted. Also, best buy has a 100 dollar off offer too. So, I may be able to get the 32G Nook HD+ for 79. (I get freeish hot spot. So why no)

If you have a $100 off coupon, and you don't mind it not being a "true" Android tablet (which you can convert it to with an expansion kit), then I would go for that. I got my Nook HD+ as a belated xmas gift from my partner, before all the discounts and such came out... I still love it. Not everything from Google Play works, but most stuff does, and pretty much all the major things work for me.

Dear OP,

I don't have any advice for you; I have a Nookcolor that I've owned and loved for about 3 years. I need to replace it, I think, and so I appreciate your inquiry. I would also be interested in owning a tablet but cannot quite figure out how I want to proceed.

I hope you get some helpful responses, since mine isn't.

Galaxy Tab 3 if it has to be one of those two, but the Kindle Fire is the best for the money. Do not get a Nook HD+ because even if you buy it on sale at 50% off it's still an overpriced piece of crap that won't work right and they won't fix or replace it because they stopped making them.
