1. Haha, I think most people who post secrets here have that motivation.

8. Yuuko molests everybody, trufax. I personally think that Watanuki secretly ships Yuuko/Himawari, but is in denial.

9. Er. I do that to a lesser degree--I've worn a trenchcoat ever since I got into John Constantine, and when I was into Hughes from FMA I got glasses with frames that matched his--and I don't think there's anything wrong with it, but uhhh changing your major is not on the same level as getting new shades.

17. Not everyone who tells you that the manga is better is an elitist fuck who thinks you suck for liking the anime. Some of them...just think that the manga is better. I don't think that Bleach anime fans suck. I just think that the anime sucks--it has shit animation and art, as was stated in an earlier comment, and especially early on it changes things around for no reason that I can see, plus it tosses in gratuitous shipfodder for the animators' OTPs and cuts out bits from opposing pairings/characters.

But that's nothing personal. It's just...I think the manga is better.

In terms of quality, I think the manga beats the anime. It's just the animators are lazy sometimes or maybe their budget is low and it's kind of annoying to watch top notch animation plummet in a matter of three minutes.

Do tell! I can totally see it in the openings and endings. Also, I started watching Bleach in the SS Arc so I don't know about any changes in the beginning. :(

I guess it's inevitable that the anime for a long-running manga will have inferior animation, but it just seems to me like the Bleach anime is particularly bad. Other people may be more forgiving of it, or may like the seiyuu (who are definitely awesome) enough to overlook it. But it tends to put me off.

I haven't watched the anime regularly for a long time, myself. But they definitely made a lot of changes in the pre-SS arc era. I was shocked at them, since they basically just kept chopping stuff out--it seemed like they were trying to get to fillers faster. :P They messed around with the first Memories in the Rain arc in really weird ways (and did the same thing with the second one, wtf ZOMBIE LADY SHIBA), for one thing. On the level of ships, they took out a lot of Orihime's daydreams and played up a "romantic" angle between Ichigo and Rukia, to the point of having Rukia talk about having found "true love" with Ichigo as she was leaving to go back to SS (that might have been partly the subbers' fault, but there had to be something there for them to work with). I also hear that they cut down on the Renji/Rukia interaction. Additionally, they made a big thing of having Aizen seem all sinister from the start and making his interaction with Hinamori less personal; I know several friends of mine who are Aizen/Hinamori shippers watched the anime equivalent of chapter 100 and got annoyed because it removed a lot of little touches that had made the relationship seem more romantic in the manga.

Finally, as a last insult (that I know of), during the Yoruichi/Soi Fong fight, they had Yoruichi proclaim that Soi Fong was "like a sister" to her. Which, uh, definitely not in the manga.

I know you're not ALL elitist fucks, but 'all' my friends that love Bleach manga seem to be.

I don't mind if you think the anime is crappy, that's your opinion and your choice, but I still love it and my secret is really just about the fact that I hate that my friends can't talk about the characters without me being told how 'oh my god the anime is horrible, you don't know anything if you haven't read the manga'.

I want to get back into the fandom so I can enjoy this series with them, not so they can treat me like I'm a moron for liking the version they don't. :(

I see where you're coming from. I had a similar experience in FMA fandom; it was probably part of what drove me away from it.

I've been undecided for a year now, so it's not like I did a huge change. I just decided in my head to switch from biology to criminal justice. I guess since I don't know what I'm going to do, I'm easily influenced by what I like.

Erm... and that was for #9, not #3. Where the hell did that come from?
