I don't mind "flavor of the month" fandoms because if it's something I end up really liking then I tend to stick with it.

But, yeah. I like finding people who are into old shows and dead/non-existent fandoms I really love.

As bad as the tumblr fandoms for the most popular stuff is (and as pervasive "flavour of the month" fandoms get), the reason I keep coming back is because it's the only place I can find fellow fans of certain not-as-popular/old shows.

Yeah...I like it for that reason only. I Tumblr Savior what I hate seeing all the time (what you have listed and few others), and I'm good.

Though right now I am impatiently waiting on Logan/Mariko, Logan/Yukio, and Yukio/Maritko fic.

When I first watched the film, I actually thought Yukio and Mariko were an item. And I didn't go into the film with shipping goggles glued to my head.

The only reason I got a tumblr was because that's the only place I could find people talking about my tiny fandom. If that's where they were, that's where I was going to be.

I feel you. I tumblr savior all the popular fandoms and am only there for Age of Sail fandom and the inevitable reblogs of pornographic contemporary paintings of Napoleon and his ministers. For small, eccentric fandoms it is a lovely place. :)

Well, I've found some of the missing Classic Who fans because of tumblr, so that's good.

As a fan of older, primarily pre-2000 anime titles, Tumblr has been a godsend in being able to connect with other fans of those shows, especially those that have long faded into obscurity. I mostly avoid a lot of the "big name"/"flavor of the month" fandoms, and yet I still have plenty to look at and enjoy every day.
