Fanfiction Guilt

(Anonymous) 2013-08-01 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I started a fic in a small fandom which got really enthusiastic reviews on the first couple of chapters.

My latest update? Not so much. I'm really stressed now that I've fucked up something that people were really enjoying (there's very little fic in the fandom to start with). Unfortunately, I've no way of knowing what it is people aren't digging.

What has anybody else done in this scenario? This fandom has been awesome for me and I really want to give people something they'll really enjoy.

In cases like this it's most likely that people pumped out all their enthusiasm in the review for the first chapter, but now they find they don't have much to say -- that doesn't mean they didn't like it.

I run into the same thing, and I would describe it as insecurity, not guilt. I don't have any good solutions, sorry.
